Taurine is an amino acid that protects the photoreceptor cells of the retina allowing the optic nerve to process light.3
Omega-3 fatty acid is an essential component of cell membranes in the retina and optic nerve. The triglyceride form may have an increased absorbability and is comparable to the naturally occurring form found in fish. Some studies show that Omega-3 may reduce the instances of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) by up to 30%.4,5
While the AREDS2 formulation includes 80 mg of Zinc, the study actually found that 25 mg is just as effective in a supplement targeting age-related eye concerns. Zinc picolinate is absorbed to a higher degree than other forms of zinc.2,6†
Antioxidants fight free radicals to help prevent cellular damage. Vitamin A helps process night vision and acts in combination with other antioxidants, such as Vitamin C and E, which may help decrease the progression of AMD.7-10
These carotenoids are found in the retina and may help protect against high-energy blue and ultraviolet light.2†*

On the label, the suggested use states: As a dietary supplement, take 3 soft gels daily with food or as directed by your health care professional. Always refer to the TOZAL bottle or ask your doctor directly for instructions on serving size and frequency.
My doctor recommended TOZAL, but I'm already taking a different multi-vitamin. What is the difference?
The TOZAL formulation was based on the findings of the National Institute of Health's Age-Related Eye Disease Study and includes those vitamins and nutrients at equivalent doses†. In addition, TOZAL includes nutrients not found in AREDS, like Omega-3, Taurine and Vitamin D3. Many multi-vitamins include some of these same ingredients, but not all. By replacing your multi-vitamin with TOZAL, you will help support the health of your eyes, without paying for additional supplements. Always be sure to talk to your doctor to determine what is best for your individual needs.
Can I get a sample?
We do have samples of TOZAL available through some doctors’ offices, however, they are intended as examples of soft gel and serving size only, to ensure the size is easy to swallow. Either tell your doctor about your interest in TOZAL and have them request samples or tell us who your doctor is by filling out a contact form and we can reach out to them.
